Series creator Ed Boon tells BBC Newsbeat the hybrid console’s version will “absolutely be getting an update”.
“And a number of the the concerns of the issues that had come up will absolutely be addressed,” he says.
"It would have been ideal for us to have released the version that we absolutely wanted.
“But anything that we’re finding a problem with is on our list and is going to be fixed.”
I have faith in them. Let’s see how long it takes though, and what the final product will be.
“And we couldn’t not release a full priced game we knew had serious graphic and playability issues!”
Absolutely ridiculous that they couldn’t just delay game card production until it was ready. I suspect it has as much to do with the “we’ll fix it in an update” mentality as factory production windows.
It’s just… every time now. Why is it every time now?
Because it’s profitable, and all the corporate side of things cares about is profit.
Because people buy the game anyway. So why stop?
Nintendo Quality Seal of Approval.
I hope they do fix it, it’s good that they’re addressing it. The Switch has such a massive install base these days that developers can’t just treat us as second class citizens anymore 😅. I ordered it at a discount but I haven’t received it yet. Hopefully there’ll be an update soon!
I play Mortal Kombat 11 on the Switch and it’s definitely not as good as the more powerful consoles’ versions, but it’s still fun. If they get this one to work at least as well as MK11, it’s good enough for me. We’ll see…
Ok, yeah… I got the game today and it’s seriously bad. I won’t play it again until there’s an update. Once you’re finally fighting it’s not too bad, but you just need too much patience to get to a fight 😆
Heh. Keep us appraised, if they fix it.
Do you only play on Switch? Or have any other console or PC too?
Yeah, just Switch. My laptop can play some decent games now that Linux is widely supported, but it’s already a bit old.
Yeah, I can understand. My laptop is same. It’s a 4th gen one, and has trouble playing even older games. 😀
Hope they fix MK soon.
Why would you have faith in a company that sold you an inferior product for the same money as the Xbox and PS5 versions? Do you think they didn’t know the problems? Of course they did.
Well, sometimes when an item must be shipped is not in the hands of devs. Without knowing who decided on going ahead with shipping it in this state, I am going to give devs benefit of the doubt since their previous iteration ran well enough on Switch.
If all versions were so bad, or if they had a track record of releasing games on Switch in broken state (which I must admit, I didn’t check), then yes, I would say my faith is misplaced.
But yes, I guess we tend to ignore the faults of people (and companies) we like, and objectively speaking, I should’ve been more critical of them.
