Corpulent Shrimp is an oxymoron and a great band name.
A) We seem to be down to two kids again.
B) Wait, they have a maid? Just slip her a couple dollas to put the kids to sleep if that’s not already in her job description.
C) I love “corpulent shrimp.” It’s like: “how can such a big man be so small?”
I had only one question: Who would bring their kids into bed and at least is available if something happens 😅

I love the detail of the glowing (kerosene or natural gas?) lamp on the table, with books and papers scattered around. Gives a sense of time and place. Where is the third child, though?
Unfortunately kerosene lamps don’t date a scene so much as they should - they are being sold today, and not just for camping.
