What you need to know

Google has redesigned some elements of its popular file management app.
-
Users will be able to view their recent files in the form of a carousel, just like their Memories on the Google Photos app.
-
The new change is seen in the latest beta and some official versions of the app.
Does anyone use Google files in this community? I use solid file explorer due to its dynamic search function, dual pane layout, and smooth colorful interface.
Not for file management but it’s handy for quick clean up
i have nothing against google files but i feel material files is a lot more fully featured.
Yeah, I have that as a backup option as it’s super smooth and supports multiple windows.
I use Google files in an effort to minimize the amount of 3rd party software on my phone - particularly when it comes to file access.
No, I just use Simple File Manager Pro.
Simple Mobile tools were sold to a shady figure a while ago. I would use fossify or material files if I were you.
Nothing has happened to the application yet but I looked this up and it’s information that will certainly encourage me to switch sooner rather than later. I was already shopping around because development had stalled (now I know why). Thanks for the heads up.
The only thing keeping me from using it as my only file explorer is the fact that it doesn’t support SMB shares.
