[Image description: the bed of my pickup truck is loaded with a bunch of plants]

We’re bringing:

  • Common Ninebark
  • Black Chokeberry
  • Lemon Balm
  • Hoary Mountain Mint
  • Dappled Willow
  • Carolina Allspice
  • Variegated grasses
  • Spearmint
  • Goji Berry

To a market we haven’t been to as vendors before. A friend who is a baker recommended that we attend since it gets more foot traffic than the other markets she and I had been in last year. Wish me luck!

Reporting back: still spearmint but more intensely spearmint than my spearmint, and the flavor stays longer than true spearmint. P. tenuifolium is also spearminty but those are in pots and not soil.

Nice I have also heard if you keep different types of mint near each other it can change the flavour of the mint.

Right now it’s a little closer to Spearmint, but I lean towards having plants slightly hungry while potted. I planted out a bunch for us about a week ago, so they may have had some time to gather what they’re after from the soil more adequately. I’ll report back on that for you for sure. I’ve also got tenuifolium just about ready for planting so maybe a little compare/contrast is in order.

Thanks! Last year we had so much rain that people gave up on their gardens so I’m very hopeful after a nice start to June.
