Architect your infra so that any failures are silently handled and reported to you for you to investigate and repair without anyone noticing.
Then get fired because of “what do we pay you for?!”
Keep solid logs about these notifications and the efforts you take to resolve them.
‘you pay me for this long detailed list of problems I resolve daily’ hands over thick stack of printed notes
‘The fact that you don’t notice me on the front end is proof I’m doing a good job of it.’
have your monitoring file these quiet reports as tickets, or just call them that, that’s a word they understand
Or just let every error occur in sight of everyone, delay fixing it at a reasonable time frame (not too long to inconvenience people, not to short to make them think it was easy)
“Never tell them how long it’s really going to take” - Montgomery Scott
