One of its most iconic episodes, widely written about in metropolitan New York newspapers, was titled “I TOBOR”. The robot was an important recurring character, and represented the first appearance of a robot in live televised science fiction. Its original manufacturer’s name was “ROBOT I”, but the stencil with its name inadvertently was applied backward, thus creating the enigmatic name.
