I read some recipes then made this:
1.5 oz vodka
1 oz good Mastiha
1/2 oz Apricot liqueur
1/2oz St Germain
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
1oz tonic water
Shake first 5, add the tonic to shaker, pour into coupe. My thoughts - I read a recipe with Mastiha and apricot so wanted to try it, but the round lychee flavor of the St Germain really has more of an affinity, I would not apricot it again (though this is good). It’s a one and done for me but if I adjust next time, maybe a gin instead of vodka (if I can figure out which) and no apricot.
On Mastiha - We live near Tarpon Springs, so every good Greek thing is available, but the wine store B21 there does ship at least inside the US, and I’d guess our Europeans can get this straight from Greece. It’s not like anything else, and is very good. The one I get is Verino.
Lychee flavor in st germain? I thought it was elderflower 🤔
It’s elderflowers, yes but the taste is so similar to lychee its uncanny.
