Source: Props (by Guglielmo Meacci - ArtStation)
Hi.
Today i post something different from usual. These props started as an exercise to push my design and then i decided to polish them.
The props are inspired by the incredible Sheng Lam.
Cheers

Three 3D renders inspired by this design:
I have a hard time with this one, my mind want to understand how that tape works ?
I know of infinite loop like some 8 track mabe. But I can see all the issues with it too like jamming or slowing down.
Infinite loop tapes weren’t that uncommon. My man Tech Moan on YouTube has explained a ton of old formats, several of which were infinite loop.
Infinite tape loops are quite the rabbit hole to venture down. Hainbach was the one that started my journey.
This design wouldn’t be able to record more than a couple of seconds IMO because the reel cage is blocking where the tape could be fed back in like 8 tracks do. To be honest I KNOW how 8 tracks work but it still feels like a bit of black magic to me. The design just feels like it shouldn’t work and should get jammed constantly.
Even though the device says “Tape” on it the miniscule thickness of the cartridge makes me think some thing like a high density floppy disk is more likely.
This is giving me PSP vibes, I like it.
I choose to believe that this is from an alternate future where AIWA was more successful and bought the Walkman brand from Sony.
