shadow town sounds nice to me :)
I’m really excited for more mature moderation tools to facilitate a kinder atmosphere in the future.
I think it just results in more bans and blocking, instead of feeling picked on you’ll just be banned, at least on far left instances/areas.
I got banned on Mastodon for ‘climate change denialism’ which I thought was hilarious considering I have likely spent more money and more of my time to be climate positive than the person who banned me and the people outraged by what I said combined
But they wanted to be hyped up by a garbage doomer article and by me arguing that the article was doomer bs and bad maths triggered them
Using mistral to calculate this but looks close enough
1921 + 1673 + 242 + 85 + 84 + 84 + 83 + 82 + 81 + 80 + 79 + 77 + 77 + 75 + 74 + 73 + 72 + 71 + 70 + 69 + 68 + 68 + 67 + 66 + 65 + 64 + 63 + 62 + 61 + 60 + 59 + 58 + 57 + 56 + 55 + 54 + 53 + 52 + 52 + 51 + 50 + 48 + 48 + 47 + 46 + 45 + 44 + 43 + 41 + 21 + 18 = 7264ms
So, the total sum of all the time values is 7264 milliseconds, or 7.264 seconds
Removing the snapd services: 7264ms - 3836ms = 3428ms
Not really noticed it tbh:
1.951s snapd.seeded.service
1.673s snapd.service
Seems to be a lot longer than the mounts themselves but even then pretty minimal impact:

Why not? That was 10 years ago and they’re trying to be profitable in a space that is extremely difficult to make profit.
each snap installed slows down your boot time
How so? How much impact are we talking? First I’ve heard of this
10+ year Ubuntu user here, how have I been screwed again?
You ever worked in an average corporate job? You’re missing out on so much
The IT guys barely know Windows, they’ve most likely never even heard of Ubuntu, could you imagine such a thing :|
Does it also under-steer like crazy? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HhhWzrR3Wg)
What exactly is there to defend or deflect, LLM’s are useful for some things and not for others, this is well known
I think sometimes Americans forget there is more than just the American version of capitalism
