1·8 days agoI think that’s how sports should be digested. It’s impossible to keep track of every single game, much less, even attend those games. I think that’s a luxury for those who obviously can afford to do so.
The only time I’m involved with sports is when the playoffs happen, so I’m there for the World Series. But I’m not there for the full 162-game season. I’ll root for my team when they’re doing good in the standings, whether they’ve done some right moves and criticize them when they do something stupid or fail the season.
Not too far off from what actually happened to some people. Christ. The levels the authorities went to protect the pockets of all of those rich executives.

Games@lemmy.world•Switch 2 Sales Reportedly Struggled Over The Christmas Period
5·10 days agoI haven’t bought it because the games I would’ve wanted to play on the Switch - still would work fine on the Switch. I don’t feel the need or see the need to jump to Switch 2. I haven’t even gotten a Switch for myself yet but I want one someday for Super Mario RPG.
Nintendo is just, fucking backwards in how they do business these days.

Light. Bulbs. What could one fucking need wi-fi for, in lightbulbs? I know because I stock this shit.

I’ve done this twice in a row. First off, it is not my problem how the person stocking the vending machine puts two pieces of product together to make it happen. I’m not in their shoes, it’s not my job, therefore not my problem. Anybody who pays twice is a fool in that situation.

Games@lemmy.world•Xbox 360 superfan amasses all 1,353 North American discs after two‑decade collection spree
26·12 days agoAnd will not have the time to play them all.
People underestimate the numbers of games released. They see 1,353 and may see that as a challenge. But every game you play is going to amass into hours and hours per game. Moreso once you get into the RPG ones.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•What are my rights? Just realized I don't know basic shit about the legal aspect of piracy
8·13 days agoWe’re not in the 2000s where the RIAA/MPAA spent hour after hour, individually going after individuals whom they suspect is pirating.
They’ve changed up tactics all throughout the 2010s and into today. Where, they’re holding ISPs accountable and are targeting owners of services and pirating sites instead. They’ve actually got some victories under their belt through this, which is a damn shame, so it’s telling them that it is working. Not to mention we’ve had the misfortune of dealing with ACE, their little treehouse club and lots of copyright trolls that act as copycats who take it upon themselves to operate similarly as to how they did in the 2000s.
You have far greater risk being an owner, being the uploader and being the source of pirating than you are these days, just downloading it. Your ISP decides when they want to take action against whatever files you’ve downloaded.
As people have said, your best tools are with VPNs and figuring out which VPN has your back, most importantly. That’s what pirating has come down to and that is trust.
But blah blah, we get it, the feds will say copyright is a crime and blah blah. We got that decades ago, we just don’t care because consumer rights have been thoroughly fucked over which in turn, causes us to pirate. A lesson these idiots refuse to learn.
I remembered the Pokemon Stadium one.
These sites were so creative.
I’m so proud of you that you know how to look in other people’s profiles for a snarky remark! rolls eyes

26·13 days agoI do shit on people who continue to buy this because it’s telling the companies that it is an acceptable practice for them to do.

16·13 days agoWhat I’m not understanding, are the boot-lickers who’re praising the publishers for making these ROMs available on the market. Like, pirates are the ones who have been doing the archiving and preserving while video game companies kicked the can down the street for the longest time. And only recently are these compilations released, are some people going like “WOW! THEY ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT PRESERVING! IT MAKES MY DICK HARD NOW!”
Like dude? These ROMs have been available for a long ass time and they weren’t because of these video game companies you’re happily throwing money down to.
Oh joy it is probably either:
A dumb bot trying to engage in an artificial but going-no-where discussion
An asshole user

No I was hoping for the dinosaur browser game.

Wow, how predictable, the game everyone has waited on for so long is GOTY.
I just roll my eyes at all of the winners while making a cock-jerking motion with my hand to symbolize the circle jerking the Steam community gets off on.

Games@lemmy.world•Video games where you get to kill US soldiers
2·17 days agoYou’re probably best finding RTS games where you are in the roles of maybe rulers and whatnot that oppose US military? it’s all I can think of.
I don’t know what I can tell you.
I’m one of those patient gamers, where I’m just happy I finally have a machine that can play about 89% of the games I have to throw at it. Moreso happier that it can confidently run PS2 emulation, something I’ve been chasing for years to have a machine that can do, to own anyways.
I think you just need to sit down and contemplate to yourself what you want out of a machine. It’s not a good healthy mindset to be fretting about upgrading all of the time. I mean, you made a huge leap already going from 15 years to what you have now.
Also consider that, there will still be games released that look graphically demanding and everything, but will require maybe a 1060 GPU, just as an example. Probably 8GB of RAM. It’s only the AAA stuff that wants everything to be tip-top shape. Don’t chase those.
