As the peppers ferment the microbes that are in there are producing Lactic Acid, which gives the sauce a vinegar like twang, and some deep funky notes that are characteristic of lactofermenting. Good for the gut microbiome, and great flavor if you like fermented things.

1·3 months agoShade cloths are for hot seasons, hence “shade” in the name. They protect your crops from the sun and can help with pest damage as well. They come in a variety of different shades depending on how much light you want to let through. You can use them during the cold seasons but there are better products that are specific to those seasons, such as cloths that don’t block much sun but hold the heat in.
I actually know quite a few people that participate in hog culling, and I know in my surrounding area (Californian suburb) there are a bunch of boar cages set up to trap them, so I wouldn’t really say it’s radio silent at all, perhaps maybe a bit more quiet in your area though.
Love me some wild boar!
If that’s what it was supposed to look like in 2023 I wonder what the actual distribution was that year.
Found info from previous years

For some more info on it, the purple you see is from pigments called anthocyanins (the same stuff that makes blueberries blue!). They’ve shown to have antioxidant properties in vitro. In plants they can act similar to melanin, acting as a solar protectant as you can see in OPs photo, basically it’s the plant “tanning”. Pretty cool stuff! Theres tons more to learn about anthocyanins but I’ll leave that up to you to discover.
