I’m currently working my way through Space Marine 2, been having an absolute blast.
I second this, I got into the beta on Friday and have been having a blast. It’s remarkably polished for a beta and everyone who gets in can invite as many people as they want and those people can also invite as many people as they want and so on and so on. So it’s spreading like wild fire, should be pretty easy to get into.
Truly the end of an era
Vimm’s just got a ton of games taken down too. They’re still up, but at a significantly reduced capacity.
It at it’s worst in my opinion with streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. They’re all starting to get so fragmented that they’re not much better than just paying for cable anymore, and that was their whole appeal to begin with. Now you have to sub to like 3 or 4 different services to get all the content you want (sometimes more) and they all seem to be phasing out their ad free tiers. It’s like they forgot what made them so popular to begin with.
“We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem. If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate’s service is more valuable.”

Like the other commenter said, they’re a little stiffer than stock, but they do seem to have a little bit of a break in period. I suppose it’s personal preference, but it isn’t significant enough to bother me at all. Besides, the trade off of never having to worry about drift again is 100% worth it imo.
I can’t speak to any third party alternatives, but if you’re at all comfortable with opening up you joycons, for about $20 you can replace the sticks with Gulikit hall effect joysticks. They use magnets instead of conductive pads, so theoretically they will never develop drift. I did the upgrade on mine and they’re great.

That game is soooo good. The expansions are great too. I bought it on sale forever ago and never played. Booted it up on a whim randomly a few months ago and was totally consumed. Beat it so many times that I started researching speed run strats to see how fast I could beat it (which I never do). Can’t seem to beat it before the first winter like some people can, but I’ve beaten it just after so I’m happy.
Edit: also, fun fact, it has cross save support for the android version so you can continue your games on the go if you don’t have your deck on you.
Yeah that’s new to me. I have hundreds of movies since I run a Plex server for friends and family. Very concerning.
Been playing Mario Wonder that last 2 days, but I gotta put it down and finish The Legend of Zelda: The Monish Cap. I was on the last dungeon. Great game, I don’t know why I waited so long to play it.
If enough people cry out for an easier way to access CS:GO then I would not be surprised in the slightest if valve heard them and did something about it. They’re pretty good about listening to their community and that’s more than I can say for Blizzard. That tends to be why people are less harsh when they screw up because they don’t have a history of screwing up and they tend to fix them too

You’re not really wrong that people think “Blizzard bad, Valve good” but they’re kinda right in a way. Valve have a much better track record when it comes to not screwing over their customers compared to someone like blizzard (or EA, or Ubisoft, etc). Screwing up OW2 was one more grievance on top of a mountain of them and there’s no hope that the community will get what they want. Valve on the other hand has shown they actually give a shit about their fans and are willing to listen (an example being how so many user requested features have been added to the steam deck remarkable fast). Valve is one of the few major companies left in the AAA space that seem to have any soul left, everyone else seems to have succumbed to corporate greed. So yeah, people might react less harshly when they do something like they just did. Honestly tho, if people are really upset about it, I don’t doubt that valve will here it and do something about it, it’s much more likely that Blizzard bringing back OW1
Having CS2 and GO as separate entities would go a long way for sure, but I don’t think what they’ve done is quite as egregious at OW. To be clear, I’m not saying I agree with it, but it’s no where near as bad.
Fair points I suppose. Tho I think the real game changer here is that CS:GO is still available, while the original OW is not, thus making all other points moot. If I don’t think that CS2 deserved to be a full on sequel instead of an update and would rather keep playing CS:GO, nothing is stopping me. I think that’s why Valve “got away with it” as you put it. They haven’t forced the new changes on anyone like Blizzard did. Players still have a choice. Whether or not it deserves to be a sequel is meaningless when the previous game is still available for free.
I don’t have an answer to your question, I just wanna say, that while Hi-Fi Rush was a surprise hit, calling it one of the most popular games of the last 5 years is fucking wild. Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, GoW Ragnarok, Doom Eternal, Last of Us Part II, etc etc. The list of higher profile, more successful games goes on man.
