It’s bad for people living in rent controlled units that have not been excluded from the plan, when they are kicked out of their housing to make room for brand new market rate housing which will definitely be well above what most can afford.

I think the difference is that the Xbox and PlayStation are locked down to their respective ecosystems with monthly subscription and only one online store. Microsoft and Sony have almost guaranteed return based on that alone. If valve prices this as a loss leader what’s to stop a large corporation to buy 20k steam machines and use them as computers instead of consoles. Then valve is just eating that cost with no return on the other side.

Zero chance this will be $250 it’s more powerful than the steam deck.

I will not be buying the game

Makes sense, this article has a section that does a good job explaining it: https://www.linuxnest.com/what-is-an-immutable-distro/

I think the atomic part actually means the updates are not applied until restarting the system.

I was just knocking on some doors to save their rental units from being replaced and them being kicked out. Hopefully that’s a valid reason to door knock.

Watch out about removing Microsoft’s keys! Some video drivers (nvidia) will only work with Microsoft’s keys and you might brick your system. Only remove Microsoft’s keys if you know what you’re doing.
This might have been what it was as you mentioned git reflog. I don’t remember clearly since I’m usually pretty good at not making this mistake.
I’ve even recovered from deleting local changes I forgot how but there is a way! (It’s not something to rely on but can help in a pinch!)
Fun tip on restic for restoring or browsing snapshots. The restic mount command lets you mount your backups to your filesystem and that enables you to browse all your snapshots and all the files at different points in time all from your file manager. Then you can just drag and drop to restore files as needed.

I’m enjoying following a walkthrough just to know where to go.

How would it know you’re using a VPN?

I think they mean hosting their own VPN on their home network, not using any third party provider.

I wish I could just turn it off because clearly it doesn’t respect my choice.

i have a friend like this I’ll invite him to something and he’ll be like “that sounds fun! But I think I’ll pass” and honestly I respect it. If he doesn’t want to do something he shouldn’t have to make up some excuse.
Idk, it’s coming from the higher ups, they’re having everyone use AI as much as possible from writing emails, to programming, to even doing our performance reviews. They had a built in tool do do our performance reviews for us we just had to review edit and submit

My job forces me to use AI and they track the usage to make sure we are using it.
What movie is this?
What about people living in rent controlled buildings with one or two units. They are not exempt. Where do we expect these people to go?
