  • It took me three viewings but I was finally able to follow the plot. I honestly loved it.

I watched the first time and was utterly confused, but I was sure there was a narrative that I just wasn’t following so a couple weeks later I watched it again. This time I figured out the mechanics of the plot but I did lose the continuity. So, I watched it like 2 days later and literally took notes (like 3 sentances, not an academic study), and was able to follow the entire plotline.

Probably doesn’t sound like fun to many, but for me it was an ideal movie watching experience. It provided the experience Inception promised but never lived up to (I did enjoy it as well, but it was not challenging to follow).

  • It’s ironic how so many of us find ourselves being extremely valuable for the exact reasons they can’t stand us. As IT, I’m used to being seen as nothing more than red marks on a budget to the folks making decisions. The only thing they hate more than listening to us, is when they have to.

Kinda got a chip on my shoulder today it seems.

  • Beans have a huge variety of texture. Some might be mushy, but most probably won’t be quite as mushy as canned AND cooking yourself means you can control the texture as well.

I’m no good with varieties but there are waxier beans out there that maintain texture when cooked. Lots of beans cook up more similar to garbanzo’s in texture but are shaped and taste more like a typical bean. Definitely worth experimenting.

Otherwise, embrace the mush, had me some amazing huevos rancheros this AM. A slightly runny yolk (I like mine over medium), some refried beans and red chili sauce. Was amazing on toast.

  • I’m in the same boat. I love that it makes self hosting easier for me. It does what I need and even gives me a small extra measure of security. I admit, I use it because I’m lazy, I could do it without Cloudflare and do for some services. So, I figure if it truly becomes urgent or intolerable I can drop it from the stack.

  • I was at a concert last night and it struck me just how much I LOVE seeing how people who showed up to share an experience can be so different. My kids were pointing at strange looking people but it just made me smile more and more as explained why I loved their expression and courage to literally wear it in public.

Diversity, new experiences, unexpected is how life should be. I am tattooed, mine are pretty ordinary but last night someone commented on one of mine on the way out of the show. She thought it was strange, so I explained it and we had such a lovely conversation. She had recently beat cancer and was about to get her first.

I don’t know, it’s early and this resonated.
