It’s a lot of fun, but not an internet replacement yet. They did just come out with a new dual band that has enough bandwidth to do something useful. Can’t wait to give it a try.

Still very worth setting up. I have a node that runs in my attic, and a few that I can take around with me. I can get good single most anywhere in my neighborhood, and I have enough nodes nearby that I can pretty much communicate with people all over the metro area (I’m in the twin cities).

I figure by then, it will all be part of some AI training set one day. Hopefully my shitty writing and bad opinions poison the shit out of it.

My mom is in the early stages and is DEPERATE to prove that she’s still functional. She’s also going through chemo for cancer which has fried her brain even worse. I can’t be mad at her, but I keep trying to take her technology and simplify what she insists on keeping but she can’t even handle an appletv anymore.

I am still pissed off about losing Force Touch on the iPhone. Haptic Touch is so much worse and slow. I loved using various pressures with good feedback for things that made sense. It was so much faster and more deliberate than the stupid replacement.

It felt like a great step in this direction, but instead of improving, they just shitcanned it for something much worse.
