Elderly pensioners reading Russian spaceflight propaganda was not on my bingo card for this year, but we live in an interesting timeline.
Eh, they probably want to ignore the war, feel nostalgic about the space race and glory days of cosmonauts. In regards to firsts in space, I think the Soviets did outscore the US, although they then managed the finishing blow of landing a man on the moon.
But yeah no, interesting times we live in. (Yes, in the bad way.)
