Notice that the diagonal stripe goes from the top left to the bottom right, unlike most other flags with a diagonal line (DRC, Namibia, Republic of Congo, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Solomon Islands, Tanzania). Brunei, however, also has the stripe in this direction.

Indeed! The colors remind me of the sort of hi-vis markers you see at sea and on beaches. Is this intentional? Makes the flag easier to spot on ships!
